News Corp's basketball reporter Matt Logue goes one-on-one with NBL pioneer and Hall of Famer Cal Bruton about his upchalleging upbringing growing up in New York after his father was stabbed to death and his mother experienced battles with alcohol. Bruton faced many challenges, including a three-week stint in a mental institution while wearing a straitjacket before a phone call to join the Brisbane Bullets for the NBL's inaugural season in 1979 changed his life. Bruton has turned his challenging upbringing into a positive with countless hours working in the Indigenous community in a bid to make a difference.
