Iris Foundation is a Central Coast based organisation which helps to reduce the risk of suicide by facilitating and supporting awareness campaigns, programs and partnerships that enhance community connectedness and wellbeing.

Current mental health research has identified several protective factors which reduce a person’s risk of suicide.

The Iris Foundation’s work in the Central Coast community focuses on three key factors that contribute to good mental health – resilience, hope and connections.

Key projects from the Iris Foundation includes the Community Business Women’s Network (CBWN) and Because We Care Boutique are projects under the Iris Foundation, which are focused at connecting women from all walks of life on the Central Coast.

Other key projects include Reframing Resilience, which the Iris Foundation sees as an important mechanism to help us to maintain balance in our lives during difficult or stressful periods to help to protect from the development of mental distress.

The Iris Foundation’s Connections In School Program is a wellbeing program for local students aged 9-14 which helps participants to development their personal strengths and better manage their mental health.

Connections 2X2 Resilience Workshops helps to address those in need of additional support, focusing on helping parents, teachers and community organisations.
