Remember yesterday how we brought you the news of plans to transform the Gosford waterfront?

Well, we come bearing some exciting news. Central Coast Council has adopted the draft vision as their preferred option and are now seeking the community’s feedback.

Central Coast Council moved at last night’s ordinary council meeting (September 27) to adopt the draft vision “as the preferred Gosford Waterfront Concept on which to develop a draft Waterfront Masterplan”.

“The time is right for a collective vision to make Gosford and iconic waterfront city,” the report tendered to Council says.

“To do so, Central Coast Council is reimagining Gosford’s waterfront as not only a major opportunity for the city’s renewal but even better, an undisputed opportunity for Gosford City to join the great waterfronts of the world.”

Under the proposed plan, the waterfront will undergo a massive transformation that could see the construction of a ferry terminal, marina and hotel on the waterfront between the Gosford Sailing Club and Central Coast Stadium.

Under the proposed plan pitched Central Coast Council, the Gosford Olympic Pool will also be redeveloped, and an amphitheatre will be built along the waterfront.

Children won’t miss out with a water playground and other recreation facilities – including a bike track from Gosford to Woy Woy – also pitched in the draft vision.

Under the proposed plan that went before Central Coast Council, the Gosford Olympic Pool will also be redeveloped, and an amphitheatre will be built along the waterfront.
