Central Coast Mariners coach Mark Jackson joined Gina & Matty this morning, revealing just how important this victory is to him.

ICYMI: The Central Coast Mariners won the Isuzu A-League Men’s Grand Final right here on the Central Coast in epic fashion, taking the game into extra time before winning 2-1 against Melbourne Victory.

The man of the moment joined Gina & Matty this morning to discuss everything from post-game celebrations to captain Danny Vukovic’s retirement announcement.

When asked how this compared to his previous victories, Jackson said it was unmatched.

“This is the biggest game for me. It was the biggest moment in my management career. Unbelievable for sure,” Jackson told Gina & Matty.

“Just everything about it. The build up in the week, seeing all the fans like yourselves up at the training grounds and stuff like that.”

“We always said put focus on what we needed to do and what we needed to achieve and that takes a big thing from a group of players to remain focused but still embrace what the week was leading up to it,” Jackson said.

Jackson also confirmed that when the fans rushed onto the field post game, the Central Coast Mariners were indeed feeling the love from the community.

“You felt that as soon as it happened,” Jackson said.

“Just seeing the look on everyone’s faces. You know, grown men, grown women, children, the guy on the scooter which I see all the time.”

“We felt that love from the fans and the supporters and you know, that was a moment for them where we could try and give back,” Jackson explained.
