A Lake Macquarie resident was left wide-eyed and dazed in shock after discovering her whopping $2.6 million lotto win just before bedtime.

The Lake Macquarie mother pocketed $2,666,110.76 in the QuickPick draw, adding to a total of 18 division one winning entries in the Hunter and Central Coast region in 2023.

The woman couldn’t believe her win when officials from The Lott rang to confirm her newfound fortune.

“I usually check my ticket on Saturday night right after the draw. It’s my Saturday night ritual as I’ve been playing for years and years,” the woman told The Lott.

“I looked at my ticket and I thought it looked strange. There were too many numbers, too many zeros, and confetti appeared on the screen.”

The woman admitted she couldn’t sleep following the huge win.

With $2.6 million about to change her family’s life forever, the regular player admitted she was too shell-shocked to make any initial plans.

“We don’t have a clue. We will have to wait until the prize is in our bank account,” she said, “It will put to good use though!”

Her winning 50-game QuickPick was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

Prize winners from across the Hunter and the Central Coast have collectively taken home more than $36.47 million in prize money including a Bateau Bay woman who took home a cool $100,000 a few short months ago.
