The new rule started on Tuesday.
If you’re like us, you’re pretty stubborn when it comes to Jetstar’s 7kg carry-on rule. No matter how long you’re going away for or how much stuff you should be taking, you refuse to pay for luggage when booking your ticket.
However, as we all know, this often comes back to bite when the crew at the airport start weighing bags. If this sounds like you, then Jetstar’s new carry-on rule might help you out.
From Tuesday 4th September, Jetstar flyers are able to purchase an extra 3kg of carry-on luggage for $13 on Starter Fares.
Compared to the price of the checked luggage options with the airline, this option is significantly cheaper for those needing a bit of extra luggage without having to page hundreds.
Jestar’s Group Chief Customer Officer, Catriona Larritt, told news.com.au that the new rule will be “particularly useful for those travelling with a laptop or camera bag or those travelling on short trips with an overnight bag who are after a quick departure…”
Currently, checked baggage with the airline can cost between $99 to $160 depending on the bundle chosen.
