If you’re anything like us, you’re nearing the tail end of your Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour prep.

Your outfit is sorted, you’ve secured a bag no bigger than an A4 sheet of paper and friendship bracelets. They’re weighing down your wrists with inside jokes and acronyms.

We’ve all ticked boxes and jumped hurdles (Ticketek) to get to this point but what about actually getting there?

Got you covered. Here’s how to get to Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour in Sydney:

Train

Hot damn!! This one’s free, baby!

Yes! The cost of travel is included in your concert ticket. Show your tix to transport staff and you’re golden (as if they can’t tell by your bracelets).

Hundreds of additional trains will run to Olympic Park each night. This includes express and limited-stop trains from Central and Western Line stations from mid-afternoon each day and frequent return services until late each night.

The closest station, Olympic Park, is a 10-minute walk away from the stadium.

P.S. If you are travelling from the upper Central Coast/Newcastle region or the South Coast, trackwork will affect your trip. Plan ahead and allow extra time.

Hear Gina & Matty discuss how you can get to The Eras Tour from the Central Coast with Dale from Transport for NSW:

Hell, we should all be allowing a smidge of extra time. Outside of the sheer volume of fellow Swifites, Friday and Saturdays shows are looking WET and our transport system has… let’s say, ‘a history’ with rainy days.

Bus

Like with trains, hundreds of additional buses will run to Olympic Park each night. And like with trains, you won’t need to buy (yet another) ticket.

Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses will run on all nine routes for all four shows:

Friday and Monday: services will run every 5 to 20 minutes between 2:42pm and 6:33pm, depending on the route. Last return bus leaves Olympic Park at midnight.

Saturday and Sunday: services will run every 5 to 20 minutes between 3:05pm and 6:38pm, depending on the route. Last return bus leaves Olympic Park at midnight.

Peep the GIANT list of Major Event Bus Services here.

In addition, the following Sydney Buses services run to Sydney Olympic Park:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park.
  • Route 526 runs from Rhodes to Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf
  • Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes and North Ryde.

Some additional late night services will run on these routes to help you get home.

Car

We’re going to strongly recommend against driving.

Accor Stadium has practically begged punters to get public transport, citing gridlock, blockages and inevitable tears. Accor has advised it may take up to an hour to clear the car parks so pack snacks and visit the loo beforehand.

If you do have a need for a car, the Accor Stadium car park is a pre-book dealio at $35 a pop. Friday and Saturday are already sold out. And Blink-182 is playing at the nearby Qudos Bank Arena. That’s a HUGE combined flock of folks aka around 100K.

Accor Stadium has explicitly said, “Do not drive unless you have pre-booked parking as there will be no parking available on site. You will need to catch public transport.”

Uber

While Uber will be running and has sparked some initiatives to ensure driver supply, we can’t think of much worse than paying to sit in gridlock so once again, recommend public transport. Grabbing a train or bus out of the thick of things before whipping out the app will also work.

Accor Stadium has advised that there is a designated drop off zone along Australia Avenue opposite P6 car park and the same for pick up with entry via Bennelong Parkway and Murray Rose Avenue.

Taxi ranks are located on Herb Elliott Avenue near Park Street but again, paying for the pleasure of going nowhere isn’t fun. Even if you sing ‘Getaway Car’ seventeen times in a row.
