The year 2025 is just around the corner, and we’re not going to lie… we’re already dreaming of how to maximise our holidays – work smarter, not harder and all that.

Want the same? Here’s how you can maximise your annual leave in 2025.


Start 2025 With A Bang:

Start strong and book seven days of leave between December 21, 2024 and January 1, 2025 to get a huge 16 days of annual leave to ease yourself into 2025.


Get Nine Days Off For January 27, 2025 Public Holiday:

Turn a three day long weekend into nine days by dipping into four days of annual leave, starting by taking Tuesday, January 28, 2025 until Friday, January 31, 2025.

This will give you a nine day break from Saturday, January 25, 2025 until Sunday, February 9, 2025 off to enjoy the last days of summer.  


Have Long Break In April:

With Easter break and the ANZAC Day Public holiday just four days apart, you could double your time away with seven days of annual leave.

Start by taking April 14, 2025 to April 17, 2025. Back this up with April 22, 2025 to April 24, 2025 to nab yourself a stunning 16 day break from the grind.

An Extra Long Weekend In June:

You can turn a three day weekend into nine days for the King’s Birthday Long Weekend just by taking four days of annual leave starting on the Tuesday after the long weekend until the Friday.


And Another In October:

Spring has sprung and so has another chance for a nine day long weekend.

If you book leave for the four days after the October 6, 2025 holiday you will nab another nine day long weekend. 


Christmas Has Come Early With A 16-Day Break In 2025:

After a hard year, wrap up with a 16-day break by taking seven days of annual leave.

Thanks to Christmas and Boxing Day falling on a Thursday and Friday respectively, take off Monday, December 29, 2025 to Wednesday, December 30, 2025 plus Friday, January 2, 2204 and you’ll get off a whopping 16 days to indulge in Christmas and New Year’s festivities.
