Yes, you read that headline correctly. Guzman Y Gomez (GYG) is opening at Umina this week, and they’re serving up free coffee all day.
If you’re on the peninsula tomorrow (Thursday, August 15, 2024), then be sure to check out the brand new home of tacos and burritos for the areas, located at 297 West Street, Umina.
It’s all happening between 7am and 10pm with the love extending beyond free java. Yes, GYG fans can also nab $5 burritos and bowls all day long.
GYG Umina will have the community sorted for breakfast, lunch and dinner with local franchisees Andrew and Peter Brand – who opened the Fountain Plaza location in 2013 – leading the way.
The Brand’s said they are proud to be opening the next Central Coast location.
“We are so excited to welcome GYG Umina to the area! Having been part of GYG for the last 11 years,” they said.
“We are proud to be opening our next restaurant, GYG Umina, giving the Central Coast community more convenience of getting GYG’s 100% clean and freshly prepared menu.”
The Brand’s confirmed the Umina location is continuing the hiring process, having already hired plenty of locals.
“We’ve already hired over 65 local crew for the new restaurant,” they said.
“We’re always looking for people who share our same obsession with delicious fresh food, have great energy and love working with real food, you can head to our website for more info.”

This latest GYG location joins several locations across the Central Coast, including Erina’s Fountain Plaza and drive-thru locations at Lake Haven and more recently at, Tuggerah.
