The first sod has been turned to mark the commencement of construction on the brand-new Gosford Regional Library.
Located on Donnison Street, the library will have four levels with space for the community to connect and learn.
The library will feature a space for kids to find a love of literacy through interaction and play.
Additionally, the multi-million dollar library will include a flexible function space for special occasions, breakout spaces on every level for private and collaborative learning, or just to relax and take in the views of the city and beyond.
Workers won’t miss out with the Gosford Regional Library to have a dedicated smart work hub for those who want a great place to work without the commute plus dedicated meeting rooms, recording studios and exhibition space.
Central Coast Council Administrator Rik Hart says the brand new community space will be a significant development for the Gosford CBD.
“The new Regional Library will be the first of its kind for the Central Coast and will offer an iconic building in the heart of the Gosford central business district, where the community can connect, create and collaborate.
“This next step is another visible sign of the continuing growth and development of Gosford, which is evident by the number of cranes and activity going on in the CBD.
“This project will enormously contribute to Gosford, and ultimately the Central Coast, to be a first-class region for employment, education, health and tourism,” Mr Hart said.
The Gosford Regional Library is slated to open to the Central Coast community in 2025.
