A very cranky bridesmaid has dobbed on her bride-to-be friend for what has got to be the most outrageous bridezilla behaviour ever!
The woman, known only as Hayley, penned a story for Mamamia saying she was initially thrilled to be asked to be bridesmaid for her friend Caroline.
But requests for opinions on outfits to hairstyles quickly escalated to demands to generate detailed Excel worksheets featuring cake research. And even though Hayley grudgingly complied, she was then berated for handing in the work late.
Three weekends of dress hunting later (and $550 spent by each bridesmaid on their outfits), the real ‘clincher’ reared its ugly head.
Caroline had found her dream dress – which at $10,500, was beyond her budget – and emailed her bridesmaids saying that they should all “pitch in”.
Hayley wrote:
“Yes, she was essentially asking her bridal party to chip in for her dress. As well as our own outfits, accommodation, the hen’s party, bridal shower and the three spa days she wanted us to plan prior to the wedding. My bank account was already taking a battering from the wedding and now this?
“I nearly threw my phone across the room, such was the rage that consumed me. It’s been three days since she sent the email and three of the seven bridesmaids have replied saying they’d love to pitch in for her dress. Whether they genuinely wanted to or not, I just don’t know.
“But I’m starting to think I might have to bail on this wedding, and friendship.”
Maybe a gentle bridezilla intervention session is on the cards?
