Amy Sheppard from Aussie band Sheppard joined Gina & Matty this morning to chat all about the band’s brand new album and the ongoing success of ‘Geronimo’, 10 years on from its release.
Speaking to Gina & Matty from the United States, Amy revealed that even though they’re stateside, it feels just like home.
“We love it. It’s so nice to have some familiar faces around when you really need it,” Amy told Gina & Matty.
“There is definitely a little Aussie clique going on but it has been really nice to meet some of the locals as well.”
This year marks 10 years since the band – consisting of Amy, brother George and sister Emma – released the hit song, Geronimo, with Amy revealing it feels like just yesterday.
“We wrote Geronimo and that took us international, and it just feels like yesterday really,” Amy explained to Gina & Matty.
“It’s still so relevant to us and like, prominent you know in our daily lives that it doesn’t feel like ten years but I guess we all blinked and here we are ten years later still singing Geronimo.”
“It’s going viral again on TikTok, it’s such a great song,” Amy said.
